Paddle Surf Boards - Joe Puts the 2013 shapes through their paces out in Fuerteventura

The Best Paddle Surf Boards in the World?
Further to last year’s successes, Joe was keen to take a more active role in 2013 R&D. He headed out to Fuerte in October to catch up with Bouke with a view to refining the core line of paddle surf boards alongside taking a more active role in Loco’s Short SUP development. He was also keen to revise 2012’s constructions as they weren’t as light as suggested.
As ever Bouke was only too happy to impart his years of knowledge, tweaking the tail thickness of both the 8’11” and 9’5” further to Andre and his own feedback regarding loss on control in larger waves. As you can see from the snaps the new 9’5” had no problem turning in some of the biggest waves Majanicho enjoyed throughout his 3 month stay.
The 8’4” pictured above is the largest sibling of the Short Surf SUP family. Developed from Andre’s custom 7’10” Paddle Surf Shapes the shape has been refined slightly as it was spinning out on the bottom turn when he really pushed it. The introduction of Steve Thorp's excellent K4 fins has also been a complete gam changer with the paddle surf boards feeling a lot more grippy with stiffer fin set ups with more dedicated tow in angle offering excellent control in more challenging environments.
The new surf SUP outline and the addition of some larger K4 fins has completely eradicated these problems so the new boards are set to bring big smiles to paddle surfers in 2013 across the three weight-specific sizes.
