Loco Paddle Surfing Clinics in Fuerteventura December 2013
Looking to escape the cold for a week or two this December? What if you could try a new sport and come back charging? Maybe you’ve already got the bug and want to progress from flat water paddling or those first attempts at SUP surfing to dialling in fluid carves and even a trick or two?
Loco boss man, Joe Thwaites, has been teaching people how to paddle surf for over 5yrs through his Tynemouth-based SUP School Boardskillz, alongside offering 1-2-1 coaching and small group clinics in a variety of locations both foreign and domestic.
Joe habitually migrates South to Fuerteventura over the colder months to test the next generation of Loco rip sticks. This winter we thought why don’t we offer small group SUP clinics and 1-2-1 coaching while he’s over there?
With an in-depth knowledge of all the ‘SUP friendly’ spots on Fuerteventura’s fabled North Shore Loco can guarantee progression in a safe environment, tailoring lessons to suit peoples’ ability utilising the latest teaching techniques, delivered in an friendly and easily-digested style.
At this stage we have dates for 30th November through 21 December although we may stay on a further week subject to Team GB ripper Aaron Rowe joining us to offer his unique take on the more advanced manoeuvers.
Prices are based on 4 taught days with local guiding on the other days for whoever wants it. We recommend you bring our own board as it’s great to use what you’re used to. Failing that we can signpost where to rent locally.
You’ll need to organise your own flights but we may have some accommodation options for those happy to share with like minded individuals / couples / groups. Please drop us a line with your requirements.
We recommend SkyScanner for great flight deals and for those wanting to organise their own accommodation we’d signpost Fuerteventura. It might also be worth checking out package deals to Corralejo or Lajares if you just want to book something without any hassle or like your own space.
You’ll definitely need a car with a roof rack and we recommend bringing your straps with you as they’re not readily available on the island.

Additional 1-2-1 coaching available at £40/hr on non group coaching days.
All guests will have the opportunity to demo the latest key shapes from Loco SUP’s 2014 range. Any foreign clients wanting us to bring a board over for them to take home please drop us a line so we can organise payment in advance.
